How nonprofits stand with families facing disability
Family Support Coalition

The work that holds families up
When a family receives a diagnosis, the hardest part is often not the condition itself — it is the maze of services, waitlists and paperwork that follows. Nonprofits exist to walk that maze *with* families.
What that support looks like
- Navigation. A peer navigator who has lived it helps families find the right program, faster. - Respite. A few hours of trusted care lets a caregiver rest, work, or simply breathe. - Advocacy. When systems say no, organized communities help families be heard.
Nonprofits rarely make headlines. But for the families they serve, they are the difference between isolation and hope.
